Our Commitment to Your Safety

While we like to keep things weird, we are professionals here at Loose Screw Tattoo and we take pride in our regular cleaning and sterilization procedures. As we transition into reopening our doors during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, we are amplifying our detailed and thorough cleaning and sterilization routines, while also staying up to date with recommendations by the CDC and WHO.

To our clients now and in the future, we want to share our sterilization practices we honor every day at Loose Screw Tattoo, so you can feel confident when you visit that we have your health and safety at the top of our minds.

Here are a few things Loose Screw does to keep your visit as safe as possible:

  • Each artist has his or her own private room. This limits the amount of exposure a client may have to other people while they are getting tattooed.
  • There will be a limited number of people in the lobby at a time in order to reduce foot traffic and crowding of people within the shop.
  • All artists will be wearing a face mask, eye protection, and apron while they tattoo. All clients will be offered a face mask and a set of fresh gloves upon entry into the shop.
  • Every artist and employee has been trained in cross contamination and will use that training to minimize the potential spreading of any virus.
  • Tattoo artists follow a 16-step sterilization process before anyone arrives at their tattoo station. This includes hand and surface sterilization, as well as machine, ink, and surface protection. Each artist wears and removes several pairs of gloves during this process to avoid any potential cross contamination.
  • Loose Screw has an extensive daily cleaning list that is fueled by a color coded spreadsheet and monitored by its leadership on site every day. In addition, a specialized cleaning crew visits once a month. Tattoo stations and rooms are mopped at least once a day and wiped down every morning and night.
  • Some of the shop’s cleaning supplies include Lysol wipes, disinfecting sprays, Sal Suds soap, and Madacide. Madacide is a disinfectant, cleaner, and deodorizer used heavily at Loose Screw for mopping all the floors, wiping down stations in between clients, and throughout the day to sterilize surfaces and tattoo equipment.

What you can do to help:

  • In order to reduce the amount of people inside Loose Screw Tattoo, we will only be tattooing by appointment. Clients arriving for their appointment should ring the doorbell to be let into the shop.
  • If you would like to set up an appointment or request a phone consultation, you may do so by either calling the shop at 804-342-1981 or emailing us at receptionist@loosescrewtattoo.com.
  • To reduce the possibility of exposure to our employees/artists, you must come to your appointment alone. If you are feeling unwell at all, you must call to reschedule your appointment.
  • All clients must wear a face mask during the entirety of their presence at Loose Screw Tattoo. If you do not have a face mask, you will be provided with one upon your arrival.

We are immensely grateful for our client family and appreciate everyone's support and patience as we navigate opening Loose Screw's doors during this time. Stay safe, healthy, and weird!

Want to book an appointment?

Please note that we are currently prioritizing clients that were already scheduled prior to us closing and need to reschedule their appointments first. It might be awhile before we have availability for new appointments, but we still welcome any tattoo requests and inquiries!
