Here are some of our most frequently received questions regarding the shop, bookings, tattoos and more!

How do I book an appointment at Loose Screw Tattoo? 

Please fill out our appointment request form to start the process! When filling out the form, make sure to be as specific as possible so we can fully understand your tattoo vision. We will get back to you ASAP as soon as we receive your form submission.

What style of tattoos do you offer at Loose Screw Tattoo? 

We've got a wide array of artists that cover just about every tattoo style! So no matter what you are looking for we can pair you up with someone who specializes in the type of tattoo you are looking for. 

 

How do you all charge?

Here at Loose Screw, we charge by the hour for the actual time being tattooed (not the time it takes to draw the tattoos, set up, or apply the stencil). Our artists range between $150-$250 per hour. During your free consultation with the artist, they can give you an estimate of how long they think the tattoo will take and their hourly rate.

If budget is a concern just let us know so we can try to pair you up with an artist who has a lower hourly rate. Be sure to bring up your budget with the artist during the consultation so they can factor that into the design of the custom tattoo they come up with for you.

 

What is your deposit policy?

Our artists spend hours drawing each client's tattoo design ahead of time and in order to make sure they don't spend this time just for someone to not show up, we require a deposit to book an appointment. The deposit is usually around 25% of the cost of the tattoo and will come off the final tattoo session.

 

What if I need to reschedule?

We understand that sometimes things come up and you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you need to reschedule please call us as soon as possible so we can try to fill that slot in the artist's schedule. If you are rescheduling within 7 days of your appointment you will forfeit half of your deposit, and if it's within 3 days of your appointment you will forfeit the whole deposit. In these circumstances, if you want to reschedule or book another appointment you will need to refill your deposit amount before you can book another appointment. If you call us to reschedule before 7 days there is no penalty.

It's always painful for us to hear a client have to put down a new deposit, but it is a necessary policy for our artists, since they missed out on a day they could have been tattooing.

Do you accept walk-in tattoos? 

While we recommend booking your appointment ahead of time so you can go through a free consultation with your artist, we always do our best to accomodate walk-in tattoos - just make sure to call the shop the day of to check on availability for that day!


When is the shop open? 

We are open Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm. 


Where can I park at the shop? 

Unfortunately, there is no parking lot for Loose Screw Tattoo, but there is plenty of street parking on Cary Street as well as connecting side streets. There is also a parking deck very close by to the shop located at 7 S Crenshaw Ave, Richmond, VA 23221.
